UserFriendly sums up the SCO v. Novell rulings best, and JD Frazer kindly gave me permission to reproduce his cartoon here.

I don't get the joke. Yes, I have excuses (not a native speaker, other culture,
bla bla bla).
So please, can someone explain the joke?[ Reply to This | # ]

Judge Kimball's Conclusion starts, "For the reasons stated above, the court
concludes that Novell is the owner of the UNIX and UnixWare copyrights."
However, I have been under the impression that this has never been clear - that
there is a significant amount of code in Unix for which the copyrights are held
by others besides Novell (HP being a prime example). It has even been
speculated that Novell's lack of ownership of copyright for some of the relevant
code is one of the (unstated) reasons for Novell having refused to 'sell' them.
Furthermore, it does not strike me that the Judge needed to rule that Novell
owns the copyrights - only that SCO did NOT buy them. So what's true? [ Reply to This | # ]

I'm sure PJ is much more striking in a viking helmet than Illiad would have her
depicted here. :)
I always knew things would turn out right, I was just starting to think it would
be my grandchildren who would see it actually happen.

At the moment SCO's stock price is down nearly 75% to around 40¢. This is the
first time the stock has actually dropped below it's pre-scam low of 69¢. You
can follow the plunge of SCO's market cap here.
See? The Wall Street types really are awake!
