I know I said the next article would be the Novell Memorandum in Opposition, but I got it all done and then I had a software glitch, and lo and behold, I must do it all over again. Sigh. Actually, it's miraculous that computers ever work at all, if you really think about it. Not to mention me. So, in the meantime, while I reconstruct, I have a cartoon for you in honor of today's hearing in SCO v. Novell. And if anyone is able to cover the June 4th hearing, please email me. Thanks.

Please use clickies where appropriate, and follow the red instructions. Don't
be like me and forget to post in HTML mode.
In an unusual fit of mercy, there will be no penalty for on-topic posts. Unless
you really want to make sense out of SCOX's courtroom arguments from today ...
:-)

Actually, it's miraculous that computers ever work at all, if you
really think about it. That depends on the in-house, and/or
outsourced IT Depts. My company, RSI is much
appreciated by my clients, for installing and maintaining Linux, and other Open
Source Software, where possible, and to provide valid backup
systems. Companies that use Proprietary O/S, and other software, wish they
could say the same, but simply can't! I'm sorry for the loss of your hard
work. If there is anything I can do, ...

Most people complain about how badly computers work. I write software for a
living. Personally, I'm amazed that they work as well as they do.

Having been bitten in this way before, I've learned that CTRL-S is your
friend...
I don't recall which game started it (Neverwinter Nights, mayber Baldur's Gate),
but at least a few of the storyline games I play remind you during scene changes
to "save early, save often"...

NOVELL’S MOTION TO STRIKE SUPPLEMENTAL DECLARATION OF MARK
F. JAMES ATTACHING
EXPERT REPORTS AND DECLARATIONS
Novell
352
Novell
353
Despite the fact that SCO’s opposition materials to Novell’s April
20, 2007
summary judgment motions were due on May 18, 2007, SCO submitted the
Supplemental Declaration of Mark F. James today, May 30, 2007, in support
of
its oppositions to Novell’s motions. The declaration, attaching new
evidence in
the form of two expert reports, is untimely under the
Federal Rules of Civil
Procedure, the Local Rules of this Court, and the parties’
agreed-upon briefing
schedule for Novell’s motions. Accordingly, it should be
stricken.[ Reply to This | # ]
