Creationism Is offlimits
Authored by: bprice on Friday, July 05 2013 @ 08:51 PM EDT
As a threshhold issue — what do creationisms have to do with the subject at hand, which is a science paper addressing a scientific conjecture?
Is Creationism offlimits?
Yes — the creationisms are all (to the best of my knowledge) religious, whether you're speaking of an islam, a gnosticism, a judaism, a Native American (N or S) religion, a buddhism, a sikhism, a christianity, or any of the other religions with creation myths. A non-religious creation conjecture might be in bounds for discussion, but I know of none.
Or is Intelligent Design?
Yes — ID is a specific creationism, sponsored by some of the christianities, and is thus religious. ID (through the agency of the "Discovery Institute") claims some hidden scientific content, but refuses to explicate it, thus precluding any meaningful discussion of its purported scientific content.
Or Low Temperature Fusion?
Perhaps — this depends on the nature of the discussion: whether it's oriented towards a pseudo-religious belief, a political stance, or some replicable science.

The above is my understanding the the house rules on topics allowable for discussion. Any final word, of course, belongs to PJ and Mark.
