You might want to warn people when you link to blatant adverts.

That's interesting, because I went to www.zoostorm.uk and all their
models are listed with some flavour of Windows. Even their LOEM
www.cms-computers.co.uk has the dread blue logo on its page.
And why would customers "frequently bought together"
Kaspersky AV?

Didn't follow the link, but this is where I got mine current machine from:

http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/

They've got an opt-out option for all the bundled software, and are quite happy
to sell you a blank machine.

On the other side of the world in Indonesia NoOS or DOS is more common than
Windows in some places.
Both on-line and Bricks and mortar.
And one place I must go to on my way out has i7 based laptops starting at less
than USD600.

Cheaper options?

My local 'build to spec.' outfit can match. or better, those prices with your
selected Linux installed. The alternatives are install yourself or even build
yourself (it's not difficult these days).

Local to me near Watford. They build and customise to order and I've bought my last 4 computers there. They will install windows if you want, but don't know how to install other OSs so you have to do that yourself.

Novatech have always priced bare of an OS for the many years I've dealt with
them. Mostly for parts. Just double checked and they are also still offering
Windows7 installs if you prefer to avoid 8.

Do be wary with their laptops if you want to install Linux and double check what
is actually fitted has acceptable drivers around. Should be less of an issue now
than the one time I got handed one to put Ubuntu on. Graphics never completely
worked but everything else was fine.

Richard.
