To add to your point, I believe Samsung has their own app
store now and each carrier tailors Google's own app store to
their liking, adding/removing apps as they see fit.
When I got my S4 it was like it had 3 different app stores or
something. Amazon, Samsung and Google Play.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

It's not so funny. Google has a quasi-monopoly position in search whereas no
one else does. Monopolies (those with substantial market power) are held to a
different standard than other competitors. That is why Microsoft had to give an
explicit browser choice in Europe, but no one else (e.g. Apple, Linux) ever had
to. The law shouldn't care whether it is Microsoft or Google it is dealing with.
It
should just be applied fairly across all comers. [ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
