Here is an example of that.
Businesses claim they have to drive down costs. But who winds up paying? There
used to be a decent garment industry in North America, but in the interest of
reducing costs, most of that was sent overseas, putting many out of work. Then,
again, in cutting costs, the work is moved around to whoever will work cheaper
and eventually, people who are doing the work can no longer afford to live. The
problem is also here, in North America, where many states in the U.S. seem to be
in a race to the bottom, by paying workers less and less. When does it end?
Who will buy the products and services, when few can afford them? On the other
hand, I recently watched a show on TV about Donald Trump's private plane. It's
a Boeing 757, with gold plated taps. IIRC, he's one of those who thinks it's OK
to take from the poor, so the rich can have more.

Well, when you let the people with power decide how much more power they get,
what do you expect but it to always be on the increace?
We need to fix the incentives effecting these people somehow.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
