Why should one expect the American Inquisition?

Only a chauvinistic fool spy on friends.

See:

Obama, Barack, Republican praise for spying program.

Johnson, Lyndon B., Vietnam

Roosevelt, Franklin D., 1937 recession, 1942 internment of Japanese, limits on
admitting Jewish refugees.

respectfully, a simple question/poll (?)

How many of 'you folk' routinely sign & strong-encrypt your
e-mails? For this case, I'm assuming we're dealing 'here'
with the more knowledgeable percent of the Internet users..

Anything less than strong-crypt is an open invitation to
interception/analysis. Be it for 'commercial' or 'robust
social graph' (NSA..) purposes makes little difference in the
end y'know...

Another one: How many of the companies you know have nothing
better to offer than to add a 'please do not read our
confidential mails' as a 'trailer' of their corporate e-
mails? As a *trailer* no less... Think about it, you only
read that -if at all- at *the end* of reading the e-mail.
I've seen plenty examples, and can not decide if I should
laugh or cry when seeing such foolishness.

I can only *hope* that this NSA-PRISM-thing will act as a
shock-treatment, but I'm well aware that it's a slim hope.

IS the trade pact under threat because the spying was a surprise ?

Or is spying just a convenient bargaining chip and/or excuse to kill the pact
while they stay quiet about the real reason ?

The data is being captured and analysed and will continue to be. Deal with it.
Sad as it is to say that, it's true. Once the abuse is in place it's pretty
much impossible to stop. Try and it will get more secret and more abusive.
Sorry for this reality break, now back to our regularly scheduled programming
(programming, get it?).
