We are Americans and proud. Whatever we have copied we have invented.

They make the bits that fill I devices, nobody else has the
manufacturing scale much to apples annoyance they still need
Samsung.

Secondly, Samsung's phone time to market is really fast.. By
the time apple gets a product through court, its obsolete and
replaced. Samsung has made their money and moved on. They
can do this indefinitely. Apple will eventually get sick of it
and move on... Especially when their market share starts
getting hammered by bad press. They are already not regarded
with the rose coloured glasses they had when jobs was around.
That will get worse as time goes on.

Plus suing a company that fights back just ends up with half
your battle patents being invalidated... Better to save them
to threaten little players into paying them money without
risk.( ie Microsoft's strategy imho)
