That takes one to an opinion heavy "news" page with no obvious
application to the topic of Koch brothers "founding" the Tea
Party.

Koch Brothers did not start the current TEA Party Movement.

In a much earlier Off Topic thread this same subject was brought up. The Koch
Brothers tried to start an astroturf movement using the Tea Party moniker but it
failed. The current TEA (Taxed Enough Already) Party movement began in 2009 and
is completely independent of the Koch Brothers efforts. That the Brothers kept
the domain name which was completely inactive at the date of the earlier thread
is just coincidence. It is similar to conflating Santa Cruz Operations and The
SCO Group.
