Makes you wonder
Authored by: Anonymous on Tuesday, June 25 2013 @ 04:20 PM EDT

At least before there was a tenative connection to IBM's behavior being anti-competitive based on IBM performing misdeeds with SCOgs preccious.

If all the misdeeds (stealing unix code for example) are removed - it really does make one wonder what SCOg is going to base their anti-competitive claims on.

Y'onor.... they dared to compete against us! And worse - they slapped us in the face by making use of Linux... a business model that we failed at! The Gall they have for succeeding where we failed!

SCO Finally Shows its Legal Strategy Going Forward ~pj
Authored by: tknarr on Tuesday, June 25 2013 @ 05:38 PM EDT

That's been SCO's strategy from the beginning, to not say exactly what it is they're claiming. Remember the copyright claims where they were crowing so loudly about how many millions of lines of copying had occurred, but when IBM asked the simple question "Exactly what lines of your code do you claim we copied, and where in the Linux code do you claim we copied it to?" SCO tied themselves in 5-dimensional knots trying to avoid answering a question they were supposed to have an answer to before they'd filed suit. This'll be the same, they'll claim some parts of the claim survive but it's IBM's responsibility to identify which parts.

Did IBM ever produce a linux distro?

I know they have been active in the background. Looking at the Turbolinux for
the S/390 it says that IBM owns the trademark to S/390 but that's about it.

SCO aka Caldera at one time did put out a distro that looked pretty good but I
don't think ever made it past 3rd place.
