And if such proof truly is necessary, why aren't
all voters being
required to present it and why aren't all
IDs subject to the same level of
scrutiny?
IMHO we have people in office who are fighting against
this
, not because of some idea that someone may not be able to
vote. But
because they are scamming the system and checking
id's would put an end to
it.
We also have well intentioned people campaigning against it
because so
called leaders have played the race card and said
its about cheating people out
of the right to vote. Perhaps
it will be used that way in some places. But
shooting down
the good idea of checking an id because someone may abuse it
is
wrong. Better to go after the fools doing wrong, and make
sure an id is
available to everyone.
There is an old slogan in Cook County Il. "Vote
early and
vote often"
Is it going on? Well no one can say for sure
because they
dont check id's. A person can get a list of eligible voters
in
each prescient. Then go from polling place to polling
place saying they are
someone. Better yet get a buss load of
people to do it with you.
Its been
known to happen that dead people show up to vote
and its found out days after
the election. Why? Because no
one checks id, they
cant. And if a voter is
challenged (rarely happens because
of the race card) to show id by a poll
watcher. All the
person has to say is " I forgot it at home" and walk out.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
