My wife at 82 can no longer drive a car, is in constant pain to some degree
and can not walk more than a few feet at a time, so uses a wheel chair outside
our home .
When her drivers license finally expired we did manage to go to the license
bureau and paid for a photo id for her.
It was not easy and it was not free, and although the license bureau supposedly
had an express process, it was not quick.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

I'm all for proof of voting results, but the major problem isn't voter
impersonation. The biggest vote fraud is currently insiders manipulating vote
tallies. Voter impersonation fraud is almost unheard of, except for a recent
spate of Republican voters trying to prove voter impersonation fraud by doing it
themselves.
When you have a fix for the people responsible for making sure the vote is
honest and accurate who are actually hindering and actively perpetrating vote
fraud, then I'll listen to your need for proof of voter id. But with voting
machines which leave absolutely no paper trail and are impossible to accurately
and provably show to be correct, there is little use for photo ids.

What documentation do you have to bring to get the ID? How
far would one have to travel to get the ID? When are the
offices open? How long is the wait? How many visits are
required?
There is plenty of room for mischief here.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

The Republicans made a lot of noise about needing the voter
id laws to combat voter fraud, but never produced any
evidence that voter fraud was taking place.
At least not here in Georgia.
I suspect the same was true all over.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
