I guess you missed it, photo id's in my state are free to
seniors. So the idea that the elderly can't afford one
doesnt apply. It should be the same in all states if it isnt
that way already. Especially if there is a requirement of
having one to vote.
Better yet, make your voters id card have a photo of you on
it. They are free and the technology to put one on it is
easily available.
I am not saying there are no little issues to be solved. But
it is important for the reliable results of an election to
have people prove who they are and where they currently
live.
IMHO the politicians who scream the loudest against it may
think that there are people voting for them or others they
support multiple times. Without proof there is no way to be
sure.
