>> The Hong Kong government had said that, as it “has yet to have
sufficient information to process the request for provisional warrant
of arrest, there is no legal basis to restrict Mr Snowden from leaving
Hong Kong”. <<
>> Justice officials had asked for more evidence from the US
to trigger any police action but Snowden was free to leave after
this was not received. <<
>> Hongkongers expressed shock, awe and even a slight twinge of
disappointment as they learned US whistle-blower Edward Snowden
had left the city on Sunday morning on a flight bound for Moscow. <<
>> It was also reported that Beijing made the final decision in allowing
Snowden to leave Hong Kong on Sunday. <<
An "intermediary" not known to Snowden or city officials is alleged
to have forwarded the message the he was free to leave HongKong.
