The fourth amendment does apply to civil matters, in that you can refuse to
testify if you think there is a chance it will incriminate you in a criminal way
(ie fraud). It does not apply in that there are certain assumptions that are
allowed to be made about a witness pleading the fifth in civil cases.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

I would assume that government lawyers will hold their own deposition, which
will have very different questions than the ones that would be asked in this
Troll-on-Troll case. And it would probably not become public in time to help
this case, because they are at the very start of a huge investigation. It will
probably be months before they even decide who exactly to ask formal questions
