I ran a squid proxy when I had fifty desktops to support. Things must
be getting bad when I've gotta run one at home. Another problem
with off-site content is those sites which for legal/economic/daft
reasons host images and bits of their own content elsewhere.

Request policy a firefox addon does exactly what you request, stop sites from
pulling in content from other sites, unless you specifically give permission for
them to. Permission is generally in the form of base domain to base domain, you
can also say all requests to a base domain are ok, or all requests from a base
domain are ok.

Actually replace all the base domains with the three options of base domain
(groklaw.net), full domain (groklawstatic.ibiblio.org), and full
address(http://www.groklaw.com) but you can only set 1 way to do it for all
sites via the easy menus (your choice of which one).
