"The whole implication is that these big bully
movers are trying to get him out of town, and we just want
him
to get legal,"
Tolson said.
I get that the bigger guys want Wildcat Moving to
operate
legally, but that's not the point - the law itself seems
unconstitutional... --- IANAL [ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

Anyone been able to track down a link to any kind of presentation on Judge
Koh's rant?
I'd be interested in getting more info on that if it's
available.

At the same time, Yu was critical of the “weak”
Windows mobile
phone platform, adding that its license fee is
a significant turn-off from
Huawei's point of view.
So now we know that their MS Android
patent license
fees are lower than Windows Phone license fees.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

So Mr. Dotcom wants to encrypt half the internet to
re-establish a
balance between a person – an individual – and the
state
Pssst, wrong answer. To retain ownership of your data you
need total ownership
of the media (hard disks, whatever), total control of the
access (physical and
networked) to the media, and sufficient backups with
similar protection.
Mr. Dotcom has failed those counts once already. I
don't know how his
current enterprise differs from the previous. The Pirate Bay
has a better system,
the data is distributed on thousands of hard disks all
over the world, but even
TPB has no ultimate control over those disks. And
green smoke is unpredictable.

I've just heard part of that speech on
local radio, where the President promised to reduce something by up to
one
third. It must be a PolSci thing that I fortunately missed in my education,
along with making things
three times smaller. No wonder the populace is
losing comprehension of the value of numbers. At least
Obama is not reported as
also mangling the German language.
