(T)he 'modern' uptake of patents more appropriately might be revealed as being for defensive purposes against litigation 'innovation'.
Well heck yes, sonny. Where you been the past decade? PJ been advocating defensive patents since Day One. Them what don't got one are targets with "Chump!" written on their backs.

That just Reality. Don't mean she or anyone else gotta like it.
