I think that if IBM were to accept apologies, the apologies would have to be
quite extensive, and not just from the lawyers, also from the companies and the
human beings involved. And very much on the record.
I don't think that IBM would accept apologies, however. I think it wants a
judgment. It might be a stipulated judgment, so-ordered by the court, if that
was what SCO wanted, so as to get things over quickly. IBM's counsel may have a
draft ready (akin to the obituaries newspapers prepare and update, ready in case

SCOP's apology would have to be on the record.
Something akin taking out a full page add in The Washington Post,
The New York Times, The Financial Times, The Straits Times, The South
China Post, The Wall Street Journal, Die Beeld, Die Zeit, Handelsblatt,
and the rest of the top 50 newspapers around the world.
