Being Invisible, Unknown, and Unremarkable.
Authored by: Anonymous on Thursday, June 13 2013 @ 03:10 AM EDT
I realize I run a non-zero risk of ending up on one or more lists by posting
this. So be it. Because once we decide that to avoid ending up on such lists
we need to be invisible, unknown, and unremarkable we (speaking as a citizen of
the U.S) have conceded that not only is this no longer the "land of the
free and home of the brave" but that we are OK with that situation. I am
not OK with it at all. While I hope to not get shipped off to Guantanamo or
worse I refuse to totally give up what are supposed to be my Constitutional
rights for the purpose of remaining invisible enough to avoid being included in
said lists. While I realize there are legitimate reasons for cowering, if
everybody cowers, or if the govt. behaves such that everybody needs to cower
then the terrorists have already won. We need not worry about them attacking us
as we will already have attacked ourselves and inflected far worse damage than
they could ever hope to inflict.
