Now here is one problem:

I know there's a rule against political posts, and PJ, I hope this is not viewed
as a political post but one that is trying to get past the political tone of the
commentary...

To the OP,

If Obama had ever tried to foster true bipartisanship then I might take your
argument as having some merit, if you hadn't couched your argument in such
biased terms. Politically-charged comments are against the rules here. I don't
know if your post will be recognized as such, but I think it is.

This is not a Democrat or Republican thing nor is it a Liberal or Conservative
thing - this is a rule-of-law thing and a common-sense thing. Someone has to do
something to fix this problem.

Your decidedly slanted viewpoint is objectionable, in my opinion. You see, it
doesn't take a liberal or a Democrat to do something constructive, and it
doesn't take a conservative or a Republican to do something obstructive.
There's plenty of both on either side of the aisle, and there's been plenty of
corporate cronyism committed by Democcrats during Obama's first and second term,
so let's get over the whole Democrat/Republican stereotype you're parroting and
get on with busness.

If Obama can bring himself to actually apply some of his pro-bipartisan rhetoric
in practice for once, then I am sure plenty of bipartisan support will be there,
because this is a problem that affects the economic health of our country.

I am not holding my breath, but I am holding out hope. As should we all.

If you want to do any politically-oriented talking, talk to your
congresscritters to see if you can help spur them to action.

Just my opinion, but this comment is completely over the 'no
politics' line. It attributes attitudes to political
entities without supporting evidence. (In particular, it is
speculative, so there is no evidence anyway.)

Please lock it or delete it.

I think the situation is more like when the banks were all of a sudden forced to clear checks...

Nobody is going to risk a firestorm by undoing something good for *almost*
everyone. The waste of bad patents and "Trolling" is becoming obvious
to everyone.

Did you notice all the computer folks submitting briefs in the Oracle versus
Google appeal? When was the last case that saw something like that happen?

Why are you worried about Republicans?

Obama is one of the biggest crony enablers we've seen in
quite awhile. I'm quite sure once the right campaigns have
been funded by the right people, their patent applications
will sail thru with flying colors.
