So what happens when Samsung's 'every type of device under the sun' policy means
that most if not all the opposition goes bust or simply gives up?

Then you have a virtual worldwide monopoly. The last thing I want is one
monopoly (Microsoft) replaced by another one (Samsung) in any way shape or
form.

Despite Android being based upon Linux, I am also beginning to have a sneaky
feeling that Samsung will ditch Android very soon (1-2 years) in favour of their
own O/S. I am sure that the $10 per unit that they have to pay Microsoft for
every Galaxy Handset wrankles with them. If they could get an extra $10 (or so)
profit per handset they would be very happy.

That is what I am wondering.

Am I the only person wondering about these points and asking this sort of
question.

I don't need to chill out thanks. I've just returned from two weeks
photographing Lichens, beetles, flowers and other tiny things in Wales. The
Mountain Pansies were particularly magnificent.

BTW, I never mentioned the Dinosaurs.
pre-simian apes (aka Lemurs) are an evolutionary dead end. Consider them Apes
X00.50 wheras proper simians are Apes V1.00 onwards.
Lemurs are missing some vital bits to their biology that they need to thrive and
spread over the whole world.

Could Android be X00.50 in their grand scheme of things?

Don't even get me started on the future should Oracle prevail on their spat with
Google. Thankfully I only have a few years to go before I retire.

Ubuntu & 'apt-get' are not the answer to Life, The Universe & Everything which
is of course, "42" or is it 1.618?
