You poor soul. I'll respect your "long story" and not ask
any questions. I
can tell you that there is no way most
software installed on the Windows 7
partition will ever run
on the Windows 8 partition because it is not installed
on
Windows 8. If you can actually install it on Windows 8, then
it will work.
Otherwise, end of story. [ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

I hate Office just as much as a lot of people. (Ok, Office 2003 was the last
usable version IMHO)
However have you tried to actually install Office 2010 on W8 and if it won't
validate, actiually called MS up and do it manually?
The whole windows ecosystem is IMHO fundamentally screwed up big time. Hidden
Directory trees that can take up 50% of your C: drive free space? I could go on
ad-nausiem.
(try unhiding AppData and see what goodies you find, like copies of files you
have downloaded and long since deleted, extracted contents of zip files, etc etc
etc)
Mr Spock would simply say, 'Captain, this is not logical'
(Disclaimer, I studied Operating Systems as my major back in 1975 and spent 20
years working for DEC.)

Ubuntu & 'apt-get' are not the answer to Life, The Universe & Everything which
is of course, "42" or is it 1.618?
