Not even wrong.

That is the exact opposite of reality.
Samsung is all about churning out very kind of device.
Any and all sizes and colours.

Quote:I am just getting a bit fearful that Samsung is well
on the way to world
domination in all things electronic. Then it will be
everything in the home (the

Think of it as the 'Any colour you like as long as it is
Black' saying about the
Model-T changed to, 'Any device you like as long as it is
branded Samsung'.

I don't think you can make a meaningful parallel between an OS on electronic
devices(existing <100 years?) and (Evolution in animals 1 Billion years 2
Billion years?)

Quote:Just do a little research into the pre-siminans of Madagascar and you
will begin to understand what I mean.

Remember there is no pre ordained path to human consciousness, if you
rewound earths history and throw the dice again, very different winners and
losers are a certainty.

Best-Buy and the rest are dead - they got killed by a dinosaur killer - Amazon and the internet.

The dinosaurs were incredibly successful for hundreds of
millions of years.

Then circumstances outside of their control changed the
world.

Huh?

"Now, ask yourself that question again..."

I'm sorry... what question? I was merely making a funny on Linus' ancient and
well documented comment about where he was headed with his kernel.

The point is that because Android is open, if Google is not interested in
pursuing a particular line of development, any one else is free to pick up the
reins and run with it. You can't do that with Microsoft or Apple.

On a slightly different tack, too many products have silo software delivery
systems, regardless of OS. I can pull down a compiler and build software to
run on my laptop. But to get something installed on my Nook, I have to
register the device with Barns and Noble and jump through hoops to become a
developer. Don't know what it takes to install home grown software on an
Android phone. The Android browser will not run flash. We are losing our
freedom to run whatever software we want on our own devices.
