Monsanto sure spends a lot of money on research
Authored by: Anonymous on Friday, May 31 2013 @ 01:04 PM EDT

Monsanto said the Oregon discovery is isolated and shouldn’t concern consumers or trading partners.
Of course, Monsanto can claim this because they regularly purchase a small portion of wheat from all the farmers and do DNA testing to make sure Nature hasn't spread their version any further....

.... and I have some beautiful ocean front property Nebraska for sale if you believe Monsanto can conclusively say their plants aren't spread by nature... let alone how far.

So can we shut down the Monsanto SCUM now that they have destroyed one of the
nation's last remaining exports?

Never issued and should have been destroyed. But, nature finds a way (via birds'
droppings, wind blown etc.).

Nature spreads life

Very hard according to the maxim I see posted here often, because
somebody's salary depends on him not understanding it ...

Wheat is now a Weed
Authored by: Anonymous on Friday, May 31 2013 @ 05:38 PM EDT
I don't see a way to get rid of unwanted plants of this wheat strain
from other grain fields, other than hand pulling them. You may not
find the next level of armaments, dicamba resistant soybeans very
useful, as dicamba is not very good at killing wheat.

Which makes me wonder how long it would take to naturally select
for resistance to a hoe. Mechanical tillers that can run down 20 rows
at a time are quite effective in many broadleaf crops, but they last
too long, no annual income for the seller. So how come John Deere
is still in business?
