300 Words for Samuel L Jackson
Authored by: Anonymous on Wednesday, May 29 2013 @ 05:25 PM EDT
If coming up with 300 words to put into Samuel L. Jackson's mouth on the subject
of software freedom isn't an ideal collaborative task for the gr5oklaw
community, I don't know what is. I'm going to let this swim round the back of my
head for a while and come back and post anything decent I come up with, and I
encourage anyone reading this to do the same. Then we can try and pick the best
starting point and collaboratively iterate it into awesomeness.

Monsanto Sees ‘Elitism’ in Social Media-Fanned Opposition
Authored by: Anonymous on Wednesday, May 29 2013 @ 07:12 PM EDT
In these years I've seen so many battles by Groklaw, faced with articles or with a selected quantity of newspicks. They made me gain a new awareness of neglected problems, and I've agreed with almost every of them.

But, sorry, not this time.

I agree that food that contains GMOs sould be labelled. I agree that GMO cultures shouldn't contaminate nearby fields. But I can't simply accept to call Monsanto's seeds "poison" and to think they "ruin the earth".

I need scientific evidence before, and so far there hasn't be any from peer-reviewed articles.

Moreover - but this is a personal opinion - I think patenting GMOs is acceptable, since it's nothing like mathematical algorithms, or software patents (like we love to discuss here). So it semms like a perfectly legit business to me.

"...and that sensors on it will allow it to know when you are using it..."

MotoX: Dave, my sensors indicate you are trying to use your phone.
Dave: Yes, I'm going to call Motorola to complain about you.
MotoX: I'm sorry, Dave, but I can't allow that.
Dave: What do you mean, you can't allow that?
MotoX: Please reconsider, Dave.
Dave: NO!
MotoX: I'm shutting down now, goodbye, Dave........
