There are controls, you know. That's what the FDA is
for. There are
similar entities in Europe, Japan,
Australia... everywhere. Everything that
arrives in your
plate is somehow controlled.
It's been a lot since
GMOs were introduced. Of course we
can't be sure of anything, but after this
long time we can
legitimately be more inclined to think that yes, those crops
are safe after all.
Mind you, the first things that don't want to let
unsafe
food slip under the controls, so they make a lot of controls
themselves, are companies like Monsanto. Because the
backlash would be
terrible to them.
After a certain degree of controls,
everything can be
considered "possibly unsafe". There are some crops
that
actually proved themselves to be unsafe even if they
came from
"traditional" breed crossing, or "organic" culture
to some extent (biodynamic
potatoes come to my mind, for
example).
So, you may want to rethink
what's "safe" and "unsafe",
before going totally paranoid about everything.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
