EFF Makes Formal Objection to DRM in HTML5
Authored by: Anonymous on Thursday, May 30 2013 @ 03:21 AM EDT
You wanting to incorperate DRM into the standard for the internet is insisting
that we all accept DRM.

Also, you are insisting that HTML5 becomes impossible to implement correctly.

Sorry for the tone I used. I didn't mean you are an enemy. I should have
expressed myself differently.

But your points are contradictory. You say you don't want to control my computer
but this is exactly what DRM technology is intended to do.

This is not about buying from anyone. This is about whether the technology is
forced into people's computer. DRM has no business in the HTML standard.

You must remember DRM will in no way protect your market.
You cannot control my computer without modifying the hardware. I will not let
you do that.
Others may pay for your service, and even with DRM will very very easily make
DRM-free copies and distribute them.
DRM will only make life difficult for the honest and gullible.
