EFF Makes Formal Objection to DRM in HTML5
Authored by: Gringo_ on Thursday, May 30 2013 @ 01:14 AM EDT

Woa PoIR - slow down a bit - take it easy man. I'm not your enemy. I have no interest in controlling your computer, nor do I insist you accept DRM. I deny that is my responsibility to find a business model that respects your rights. You clearly will never be a customer of mine. I will conduct my business however I want, thank you. You don't have to buy anything from me.

DRM is more about control of hardware makers as it is about control of the
"protected" works and stopping "piracy". If you think it is really about
controlling piracy, consider: it is still entirely possible to make bit-for-bit
copies of "protected" material, and those counterfeits are just as usable as the
originals.
