iPhones most 'vulnerable' among smartphones

More software vulnerabilities exist in iOS compared to the other operating systems, and a SourceFire executive said this is due to the iPhone's popularity, and Apple's strictly controlled app store which drives cybercriminals to find vulnerabilities in the operating system instead.

As for Windows, the low number of vulnerabilities could be due to the fact it is not a popular operating system yet

Google Abandons Open Standards

Keep in mind that if you're chatting with someone who is using a desktop chat client, it's possible that his or her software is keeping a separate copy of the chat history.
Google > Chat > answers
Firstly Google thinks I'm too stupid to be trusted with a global Off switch for logging. Secondly they cause me to wonder about the admissibility in evidence of chat logs. Since there may be at least two such logs, and logs are trivial to forge, there should be two identical logs from independent sources before thay can be considered reliable. By allowing me to turn Off logging on selected chats Google does permit me to compromise myself, should the log be required in any future action.

Intelligence linked to ability to ignore distractions
Authored by: SpaceLifeForm on Friday, May 24 2013 @ 07:04 PM EDT
NewsPick link

If you ever had any doubts about those that worship Fox News, well, you should no longer.

The distractions (noise to most of us), just gets in the way of the signal, or even overwhelms any signal. But to the die-hard worshipers of Fox News, it is all signal to them.

Somehow, they get locked in, and refuse to believe any other source for their news. They refuse to even entertain the concept of additional sources and doing fact checking. Sad to watch. Difficult to bear if they want to 'convert' you to their belief system.

You are being MICROattacked, from various angles, in a SOFT manner.

I so wish I could have witnessed that in person.

If anyone is aware of the availability of a high-resolution version of this image, I'd love to make it my desktop wallpaper.

Thanks.

Authored by: Anonymous on Saturday, May 25 2013 @ 10:14 AM EDT
Apple might have a different legal issues brewing: Judge says leaning toward U.S. in Apple e-books case. Apparently, the DoJ pretty confident that it will be able to pin a conspiracy to raise e-book prices on Apple.
