Microsoft and Windows 8 - 100 million sold, but to whom?
Authored by: Charles888 on Sunday, May 26 2013 @ 11:52 AM EDT
To OEMs. It is almost
impossible to find a non W8
laptop these days in store. I
had to resort to buying older
models or having to "downgrade"
immediately.
What an awful OS. How could
anybody at MS think it is a good
idea? And I am not one who
knocks MS for everything - I
think W7 is a decent OS and
robust enough (maybe my standard
are too low now).

Microsoft and Windows 8 - 100 million sold, but to whom?

As an OS, Windows 8 is passable - typical Microsoft. The Metro interface is what
is always panned.

My wife needed a new laptop and decided against another Mac. Can never talk her
into using Linux as I do so when setting up her new laptop, installed Classic
Shell. She has learned to avoid accidentally going into Metro amd is happy with
the unit so far. As far as she is concerned, this is Windows 8.

Lets hope Windows 8.1 makes Metro optional.
