It's the lockin, not the source
Authored by: SpaceLifeForm on Monday, May 27 2013 @ 07:24 PM EDT
Fox is just a prime example, but, yes, you are correct, they are all bad. Well, TV is generally bad in itself, as it is a distraction. Genetically, you are not designed to watch TV.

It is the nature of the lockin problem that is interesting, and it's relationship to the distraction problem.

Why do some people have the lockin problem? How do the distractions allow the lockin problem to manifest itself in the first place? Something is happening in the prefrontal cortex that locks in, preventing them from even considering other inputs. Their 'filters' are stuck, and only allow the 'locked in', 'preferred' inputs to be considered.

This is why the 'Big Lie' is so effective.
