There are plenty of patents of stylus pointing on screen picking things or generating writing, eg:

So, the invention (also requirement) is storing values for different field classes in different tables? And putting these things together?

Also amazed that sliding my finger over a picture of a latch is an invention over using my finger to slide a (real) latch. Wow!
