Isn't the CFAA criminal law

And therefore out of reach of a non-government lawyer. Or do I misunderstand US
law somehow?

Errmmm, the story says they Googled to find the personal identifying docs,
whereon the plaintiff's notice of security breach that personal data
>> was accessed by the News Service and
>> possibly by other unauthorized persons.
is mindless wishful thinking. Why isn't Google in the dock too?
