i didn't say i was "blasting away"... just that im not
laying it down... just holding it is defense enough. and
with patents its the same thing. Companies will loudly
support the abolishment of patents, but they would be
foolish to pre-maturely give away their patents. because
what if patents never disappear. They've given away their
patents for nothing. Now they are going to be run out of the
business by the greedy companies that did not give up their
patents...

back to the gun analogy

if i pre-maturely lay my gun down, and the other guy
doesn't, surely i will be robbed or killed by the other guy
that didn't lay his gun down. instead, i will keep my gun to
defend myself... its a pretty simple analogy really
