I thought this website was against software patents?
Authored by: Gringo_ on Tuesday, May 21 2013 @ 08:07 AM EDT

This website is about the Law - more specifically, the intersection between Law and Technology. A very large portion of us also hate software patents. Most of us hate Injustice even more. Software patents can be included under that umbrella.

Speaking of Injustice, we are in an unique position, sitting here on the edge of Law and Technology as we do, to see a lot of Injustice. For example, these cell phone patent wars reveal much of this.

Perhaps you haven't noticed what is going on, but there is a war raging to destroy Open Source, Android, and Google because of Google's contribution to the first two. It almost appears there is some kind of agreement between Microsoft and Apple that they will coordinate attacks on Google.

We don't like to see that happen. Whether one's preference of the moment is an Android phone or some other brand, I think every last one of us likes to see choices in the market. We don't want our options limited by the anti- competitive behaviour of these giants, Apple and Microsoft, and we don't like to see Injustice.

For the moment then, we understand Motorola, now belonging to Google, is only trying to fight back.
