Why they ignored the "core problem."

But... We must at every opportunity, repeat the mantra "No Patents on Software
Ever!" else we will never get our point across. Trying to work with those who
would retain software patents will only codify their position and make it harder
for us to obtain the result we want. It is against our own self-interest to
cooperate with people who advocate software patents. We must keep repeating
over and over - No Software Patents Ever!

Completely Wrong

If there were no software parents, at least 99% of these PAEs would not exist,
and thus there would be no problem.

SW Patents are VERY MUCH the core problem that they have ignored. They are
trying to treat one of the more severe symptoms but ignoring the disease
altogether.
