I can easily envision riots in poor countries whose governments want to stay in
good (patent) graces with the USA. One farmer plants the GMO seeds, then ALL
farmers are in danger of getting their land taken away as payment for patent
violations as the gene blows wild across their crops.
The knee jerk reaction to reject all GMO products is not so insane anymore.

i haven't followed this one very closely, but i remember there
being word somewhere that they weren't intending to go after
people who's crops happened to get a dusting from the wind or
from cross-pollination due to insects.
That being said, how could you prove the wind or insects
didn't do it?
