Rader has been extreme in his pro-patent views. about time
his court pointed out that his views aren't consistent with a
functioning society.

All that matters is whether they can show ownership, they haven't and they
can't, or whether they can show substantial similarity, they haven't and they
can't.

Be careful what you wish for. If this causes a huge disruption (to those with
deep pockets) we might see the proposed changes to the patent laws that would
explicitly allow software patents and maybe add protection like that granted
Monsanto.

Think of all the legal fees small firms paid out to lawyers for patent filings.

All down the drain now.

The larger firms like Apple and Microsoft can afford a few dollars worth of
legal fees. Mind you I expect them to scream like bankruptcy beckons...

What would this do to the existing royalty payments?
