Well, given the error rate and speed with which humans do mathematics, and the
mean lifespan, and the population of the world, and the mean lifespan of
mammalian species...there probably are methods that can be done by a computer,
but which could not be done with a pencil and paper.

Yes and No!
Yes in that the amount of calculations may be so great that a human could not
possible do one set in a lifetime.
No in that all a computer does is basic arithmetic if somewhat faster than a
human but it is still basic arithmetic.
