Dropbox wants to replace your HDD
Authored by: Anonymous on Thursday, July 11 2013 @ 04:51 PM EDT
One of the programs I run, takes up the best part of 1TB. A second program I
run, takes up the best part of 500 GB. A third program I run, takes up the best
part of 300 GB.

A program on my wishlist, takes up the best part of 10 TB.

Somehow, I don't see DropBox as providing the amount of space that that software
requires, at an affordable price.

In looking at the Dropbox site, one TB is US$795. Looking at NewEgg, I can pick
up two 6TB external drives, and have change left over. (BUFFALO DriveStation Duo
6TB USB 3.0 Black External Hard Drive HD-WL6TU3R1). Or build my own 180 TB
Blazeback Pod 3.0 for US$18,000, including hard drives.(Free shipping from
Amazon. No mention about the number of drives one may purchase in one order.)
