Wikipedia gets all the controversial stuff wrong.

Galelaio wouldn't have had any links either.

It's a simple truth that patents hold back progress. Look at the history of the
steam engine, or heavier-than-air flight. The boom was after the patents
expired.

And the history of Linux shows that profit is not the motive for the people who
make the best stuff.
