I think that's the problem. As another observer of the New Zealand
market I see iPads (religion), Samsung (same price) and now Windows (uggh)
Early on some unscrupulous importers tried to cash in on the Android
goldrush. There was a few truckloads of landfill imported under
bizzarro brand names. The OP mentioned Acer and Asus, but local
after sales service in the tablet field is almost nonexistent. Normally
I would say if you want ease of use and freedom from problems
then pay top dollars, Apple or Samsung. But then I've known
a couple of people who had an uncanny knack of randomly selecting
the Monday morning unit from a shelf-full :(
