Letter to German Parliament

They will point to a printout, or a disk, and since they do
not understand the nature of software you won't be able to
prove to them that they're wrong.

It all makes me think of a story I read long ago: a bullying
lawyer has a world-famous scientist on the witness stand,
and keeps demanding simple answers to complex questions.
The scientist finally gets fed up and replies:

"I could answer your question in thirty seconds -- but it
would take you thirty years to understand the answer."

We can answer all their questions easily, but we can't give
them the knowledge to understand the answers.

Simple answers to complex questions are always wrong.

I think the 'as such' was added to the New Zealand law too ... if so interesting
pattern, and what does it portend?
