There are true multinational companies, but none known to me
has
originated in the Us of A.
Um, how about
International Business Machines? Didn't
they
originate in the U.S. of A.? And
Apple? Boeing? Coca-Cola?
How about Google?
Or am I misunderstanding
your statement?

Perhaps that depends on definitions, but I can think of several large American
corporations which are separately incorporated on multiple continents.
My
thoughts actually tended towards the automotive industry and the rather dated
(IMO) thought to "buy American". Many of the vehicles found on the "Most
American automobile" list these days are actually Hondas and Toyotas. :-)

I was also thinking of my
own employer ... headquartered in Geneva, and I'm in the US, yet my normal
working day is spend corresponding on a regular basis with teammates in Ireland,
Amman, Sydney, Singapore, the UK, and Montreal as well as locally, and most are
not local. Also, curiously, none of our main working groups are all that close
to the headquarters at all. :-) It's a rather distributed
experience... --- -Rich Steiner >>>---> Mableton, GA USA
