I am aware of two cases where inaccurate information about individuals was
placed on Wikipedia, and, in at least one oof those cases, the subject corrected
the misinformation, only to find, upon returning, that the entry had been
"corrected", and the misinformation had been re-entered.

Bottom line is: information on Wikipedia is entered by anyone who feels like
putting something there, and it does not necessarily bear any relation to
reality. Therefore, I think one must get independent corroboration of anything
taken from Wikipedia.
