that's because it's the best book on anything for the layman.

Speaking for myself: huge, obnoxious, animated, page-obstructing ads
Authored by: Anonymous on Thursday, April 18 2013 @ 01:07 PM EDT
Speaking for myself: huge, obnoxious, animated, page-obstructing ads are what
primarily motivated me to start using ad-blockers.

One of the ad-blocking add-ons will default to allowing ads that are
non-obtrusive and static (non-animated). I really don't have an issue with that,
provided it remains optional.

This, of course, does not address Sumzero's other issues with advertiser
shenanigans.

I installed Adblock Plus (with advertising turned off) and NoScript on my
fiancé’s system. That way, roughly 30% of a website it readable. Without it,
roughly 99% of the same website would be readable.

A long term ago I realized it was a waste of time to request website designers
to make sites a11y. It "costs" too much, even though the research
demonstrates that a11y design improves both navigability, and user experience
for the non-a11y by at least five orders of magnitude. IOW, a11y-design improves
navigability, and user-experience, far more for those with no a11y requirements,
than for those with a11y requirements.
