'Call me the General' Elop - Tomi Ahonen.

While Nokia _shipped_ 5.1million Lumia in Q1 apparently 1/3 of there were WP7.
So WP8 was < 4million.

I wondered if these WP7 were over production that hadn't been sold to
distributors but were shipped to several countries so that they could grab the
headline about _shipping_ more to those countries than Apple did.

Product placement perils
Authored by: Anonymous on Saturday, April 20 2013 @ 06:11 AM EDT
Not too long ago, a sci-fi movie had the protegonist enter a car and at start-up
a dash screen said NOKIA.
On re-watching that scene recently, I invariably thought -"ah, a dumb
car."
Product placement can be a two-edged sword.
