First there has to be some kind of recognition on the Legal front that they
can be held liable.

Hope the US Patent Office has
enough liability insurance to
cover all losses
when a company gets sued and looses big on a patent that
never
should have been
granted.
I frankly hope that is not
the case. With all the litigation
going on, I would not want such insurance
payments to be
coming out of my pocket as a taxpayer.

The USPTO is a for-profit rubber stamping outfit. The more bogus patents they
issue, the more money they make.
