Don't forget, however, RIM played some dirty tricks on the court. Read the
wikipedia page for details.

But one of those tricks was ?deliberately? deceiving the court. So it's my
opinion that at least one of the reasons the Judge pushed RIM to settle quickly
was because of that.

And RIM settled because the alternative was a judgement banning their products -
also down to those ultimately invalidated patents :-(

So imho a large part of RIM's troubles were self-inflicted...
